Simple roofs are easier to programme
A straightforward pitched roof with good access is usually easier to sequence than a roof with dormers, valleys, multiple levels, chimneys or awkward access.
Weather matters
Roof work is planned around safe working conditions and keeping the property weatherproof. Heavy rain, high winds or extreme conditions can affect the programme.
Hidden defects can extend the job
Rotten timber, damaged decking or unexpected structural problems are often only visible after the old covering is removed.
Ask for a realistic programme
A good contractor should explain the expected sequence and the main reasons the date could move rather than promising an unrealistic fixed completion date.
